Description
Abies Webbiana is an Ayurvedic medicinal plant. Its leaves are used in various ayurvedic preparation used for respiratory diseases.
A pyramidal tree, growing up to 50 meters tall. Upper branches are horizontal. The bark is dark grey, deeply grooved. Talisa Patra leaves helps to give relief from cold, sneezing, nasal congestion and watery discharge.
The leaves of the plant contain antitussive, anti-inflammatory, and mucolytic properties so help to clear airways and dissolve thick mucus present in the lungs. Leaves: Linear, up to 4 cm long, flattened with incurved margin. Young branchlets have hairy grooves. Fruits, seeds - Cones are erect, cylindrical, 10 to 20 cm long, dark purple. Flowering season is from April to June. Parts used -Leaves, whole plant in Ayurveda. Leaves (Talispatra) considered carminative, used for a cough and phthisis. A purple or violet dye extracted from the cones. Trees yield a white resin. Used in Asthma, Bronchitis, Catarrh, Cough, Neuralgia, Phthisis, Rheumatism.Plant Specifications
